They Stop Giving You Long-Term Projects
If you’re close to retirement and you’re not receiving long-term projects and tasks anymore, maybe it’s not a coincidence, and you’re not hallucinating things. According to the co-founder of Mettl, an HR technology company and leading talent measurement firm, Ketan Kapoor, your employer’s opinion about you probably changed.
That’s because they know you’re close to retirement, and you may leave them with a project on hold. Your boss will most likely try to rely less and less on your vast experience, so he/she and other team members could build enough experience to increase productivity and efficiency when you’ll leave.
Just don’t take it personally. If you think they are trying to pull you apart, discuss the matter with them.
