In our current situation with the outbreak of the coronavirus, it has never been made more clear how Americans need to be vigilant and remain safe. However, while the virus has claimed the lives of over 143,000 of our citizens, other human beings have been doing a pretty good job of that since the birth of our nation. In 2019 alone, 16,214 people were sadly murdered. Unfortunately, the bad news doesn’t end there as 2019 also saw 282,061 robberies, a depressing 139,380 rapes and a staggering 807,410 assaults across the land.

Here, according to FBI figures from 2019, we look at the 10 most dangerous and crime ridden cities in America today based on the number of violent crimes per 1,000 residents.
