How much you’ll earn varies wildly. But with an average wage of $9 per hour, you’d have to work for 55 ½ hours in order to make $500.
While the wages might be small, you have to remember that you’ll have the freedom to set your own schedule. Plenty of drivers, for example, drive before and after work. Those hours will eventually add up!

If consulting isn’t for you, then perhaps public speaking is a better fit. If you’re a good communicator, then consider taking your skills to the stage. People love listening to passionate experts that will motivate them to follow their dreams.
Portraying your skills with storytelling is a great way to generate more income without having to learn additional skills. The more your reputation grows, the more money you’ll make in the long run.
Full-time speakers can make around $43 per hour, meaning that they can generate $500 in 11 hours. But keep in mind that wages are extremely variable and it might take time (and patience!) to reach the very top.
