How many times have you returned home from the hair parlor extremely disappointed by the way your hair looked? When it comes to hair care, in most cases, you get what you pay for. Whether it’s a bad haircut, a strange color or worse, destroyed hair, going for subpar services in hopes of saving some money is not a good idea. Not when your hair is the one to suffer the consequences.
“If that haircut goes south, you’ll have to go somewhere else to have it fixed,” says Beth Kessler, a stylist and owner of Parlor on Main in Bowling Green, Kentucky. According to Kessler, many of her new clients come to have a bad haircut or color repaired. “Color correction is going to cost double what it would cost if you had just made an appointment with an experienced stylist who specializes in what you want,” Kessler says.
It’s not easy finding a stylist that knows how to do their job so that everyone’s happy. You can always ask your friends or co-workers, especially if you notice their hair looks stylish all the time. Ask about prices, location and appointment procedure.
You might not have many options right now, due to the COVID-19 restrictions in your state, but you can at least ask for some useful tips for hair maintenance until you’re allowed to go to the hair parlor again.
