Living in One of These 16 States? This Is Why You’re Struggling to Pay the Bills

Michigan

Few places seem to have been hit as hard as Michigan, with 1.3 million people struggling to pay household expenses. Another 766,976 are finding it extremely difficult on a day to day basis.

And that’s all on top of the fact that Michigan was $56.6 billion in debt before the start of the pandemic. This debt could create a $17,000 burden per taxpayer.

Louisiana

Before 2020 (and the Coronavirus) rolled around, The Pelican State was already $21.6 million in debt. Each taxpayer would have to pay $17,000 in taxes in order to lift that burden.

But since COVID-19 has swept the nation, things have gotten even worse, with 575,439 finding it hard to pay their household bills, 57,598 people out of a job, and another 53,876 residents fearing they’ll lose their jobs in the near future.

It doesn’t look like there’s an end in sight for residents of Louisiana.
