These Have Got to Be the Best and Strangest Employee Perks!

Patagonia: Surf Breaks

Very few bosses care when employees do their work as long as they get the job done. But the owner and founder of Patagonia couldn’t disagree more.

Yvon Chouinard wants Patagonia’s employees to take advantage of Ventura, California’s surfing scene, so much so that even their reception desk is equipped to inform employees of surfing opportunities every day. If the weather is nice and the waves are perfect, workers there are free to leave their work stations in order to surf!

In terms of ways to unwind at the office, this one certainly takes the cake. While other progressive companies offer consoles or other games, we haven’t come across another company that would encourage its employees to surf!
