Home Goods

Spending so much time at home during lockdown undoubtedly inspired a lot of people to upgrade their homes. After all, you could get bored of your surroundings very easily by being forced to look at them all day long.

The Bank of America conducted a survey, asking 2,500 people if they spent more money on their homes, and found that, yes, they did. So far, people spent an average of $1,997 on home goods per month, meaning we’ve seen a 9% increase since 2019 when we spent $1,831 per month.

Assuming this started happening early on during the pandemic and that the behavior also continued consistently since then, it would mean Americans spent a staggering $23,632 on home goods alone this year. Makes you think twice about all the new plants and decorations, doesn’t it?

So, what did you spend most of your money on this year? Do you regret any of your purchases?
