Douglas is a small city located in southern Arizona, along the Mexican border. It’s also the only city in this state to rank among the worst places to live. It is a relatively poor city, and half of the households in this area earn less than $31,000 annually.
When it comes to violent crime rates, the city has better rates than the other examples, as there were 249 violent crimes per 100,000 people in 2017. Even so, property crimes such as larceny, burglary, and motor vehicle theft are far more common here, than in the rest of the U.S. as a whole. Plus, in the last few years, more jobs in the city have disappeared.
