13 Ridiculous Excuses People Used to Sue Fast-food Chains

An Unfavorable Comparison

We’ve saved the best for last! In this lawsuit, it’s not a custom that sued a fast-food chain but rather CKE Restaurants, Carl’s Jr. parent company that sued Jack-in-the-Box.

Jack-in-the-Box aired a very… let’s just say mature ad campaign in which it compared the word ‘Angus’ to ‘anus’. The commercials didn’t target Carl’s Jr. directly, but they did mention “their competitor”.

Fearful that potential customers would take their business elsewhere, CKE Restaurants slapped them with a lawsuit that, in the end, they did not win! Even their request for Jack-in-the-Box to take the commercials off the air was denied.

We can’t say for certain if the ad indeed scared customers from purchasing any Angus from Carl’s Jr. and we personally believe the commercial was more funny than harmful. What do you think?
