It was not necessary to buy tons of toilet paper and paper towels at the beginning of the pandemic, when people tried their best to prepare for the worst, and it’s certainly not necessary now that things have somehow calmed down.

Sure, it can pay off to have a reasonable stash of paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, and other paper goods but warehouse clubs are not always the best places to make such purchases. For example, Sam’s Club sells 15 rolls of 150-sheet paper towels for $1.13 a roll, not much of a difference from Walmart’s 12 rolls of 120 two-ply sheets sold for $1.25.
