Relying on reviews is a double edged sword. On one hand, you need to get more information about a product before purchasing. After all, you can’t physically touch it before you make your mind up.
However, retailers know that reviews are crucial too, so they may employ nasty tactics in order to get you to buy from them. Some may go as far as to hide reviews while others will always ensure that the best reviews are always the first you see.
Here are some things to keep in mind. Check the dates the reviews were posted, especially when it comes to high volumes of positive reviews, as these may be fraudulent. Secondly, try to avoid 5 or 1 star reviews and focus on 2, 3 and 4 stars instead as these pait a better picture of what you should expect.
Finally, some people may have left bad reviews for items that were damaged during transit, and these speak nothing of the quality of the items themselves, so take those with a grain of salt.
