The internet is filled with fave websites or domains. Scammers have gotten so good at making them that oftentimes they look exactly like the real deal, which is why you have to be incredibly careful when you shop for anything nowadays. Luckily for us, while these scammers may be great at copying certain websites, they can’t copy their domains.
Check the domain name. Does it look legitimate? It shouldn’t have extra characters or typos. Most retailers match their names too. For example, if you want to shop for some Gucci handbags, you’d visit Gucci.com, likewise for MichaelKors.
It’s also a good idea to look on Whois.net, a website that will tell you when a domain was created. Lastly, look for the Norton Secured Seal, a universal seal of approval that will let you know if a website is trustworthy.
