A pretty high median household income benefits Utah residents allowing them to put more money aside after covering expenses. In addition, the Beehive State seems to be one of the best U.S. states when it comes to finding a job.

27. Minnesota

  • Median household income/paycheck: $2,431.42
  • The leftover income after covering monthly expenses: $1,058.49
  • Percentage of leftover income: 43.53 percent

Because Minnesota has a high median household income and low transportation and housing costs, it scores better than Minnesota. Therefore, Minnesota residents have more money left after covering monthly expenses than Utah residents.
