  • He overcame a childhood stutter – Joe Biden grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he has been known to have suffered from merciless bullying over a “debilitating” childhood stutter. “I can think of nothing else that has ever stripped me of my dignity as quickly and as profoundly and as thoroughly as when I stuttered in grade school” Well, you know what they say…don’t be mean to a kid in your class, one day he might become a president!
  • He was a high school football star – Biden played wide receiver and halfback during his senior year at Delaware’s Archmere Academy in 1960. Even more, he was a leading scorer on the private Catholic school’s undefeated football team. In 2008, Biden’s former coach E. John Walsh described Biden as skinny, but “one of the best pass receivers I had in 16 years as a coach.”
  • He has two dogs – Biden has two German Shepherds, Champ and Major. The Bidens rescued Major from the Delaware Humane Association when he was just a little puppy in 2018. Champ, who’s now 12 years old, was named by their grandchildren, and he is very familiar with the White House, from Biden’s time serving as vice president under former President Obama.
  • He’s a car enthusiast – Biden’s father, Joseph Biden Sr., a one-time car dealership manager, gave his son a green 1967 Corvette Stingray as a wedding gift, and the president still has it. His sons even had the engine rebuilt as a Christmas gift.
  • He’s a practicing Catholic -Biden is the second US Catholic president, after John F. Kennedy.
