‘Cooking the Costco Way’ Cookbooks

Costco members had been looking forward to receiving their “Cooking the Costco Way” cookbook in their mail for 12 years. They arrived over the Thanksgiving weekend, offering shoppers insights on how to prepare delicious meals with groceries they brought from Costco.

As we all know, paper publications have seen a massive decline, so it’s no wonder that nowadays if you’re looking for inspiration in the kitchen you have to visit their website, in their Farm to Table section.

Looking for older recipes or a blast from the past? Luckily, Costco has archived all the old cookbooks, you just have to look for the “Cooking the Costco Way” on the Costco Connection website.

Eggs That Aren’t Cage-free

People don’t often get heated over eggs… unless, of course, they talk about where those eggs come from. After Brad Pitt sent the company a letter, pleading them to stop stocking eggs that aren’t cage-free, in addition to a column in The New York Times written by Bill Maher, the warehouse club finally changed its tune about their eggs.

On their website, they say they are committed to procuring cage-free eggs even though, as of right now, not all of their international locations do. However, if you want 100% cage-free eggs from Costco, you should buy the Kirkland Signature Liquid Eggs.

  1. We wish you would have frozen yogurt as you once had. Our Costco
now only has ice cream. Yogurt is healthier. thank you. Anne

  2. I do not like the powdered gravy mixes you have now–Do not compare to what you used to have!! Also would love those bran muffins you used to have. Our Costco–need Instant Nescafe clasico coffee. Otherwise love my store

  3. Cage-Free Eggs. Did not understand that remark. I do not purchase cage free eggs – can’t afford them. You will continue to have eggs that are not cage-free?

No, they are saying they will only carry cage free eggs. No more caged eggs. They aren’t that much more.

  4. Kirkland decafe coffee has not been available for months. Are you bringing it back.
Great coffee blend have not been able to replace with anything like it.

  5. Both my husband and I miss the Guava Nectar (Grown Right). It’s wonderful. We truely hope Costco will carry it again. Thanks,

  6. PLEASE…. PLEASE …..bring back the 1/2 sheet cakes.
They were SO affordable and SO GOOD

  7. I hope that a “reacher” (to grab things off the floor) will be available to order on line. I have purchased about 6 from eBay, but they do not work as well as yours.

  8. Three items I miss:
    (1) Rothschilds Roasted Pineapple/Habanero Sauce.
    (2) The bakery’s Blueberry Muffins are not like they used to be. The ones I bought about 2 months ago were seriously lacking in blueberries (one muffin actually contained only ONE blueberry) and the blueberries were totally tasteless. These are the muffins that are sold as two packs of 6 (totaling 12 muffins).
    (3) This is an item from years ago, but I have never stopped thinking of how good they were: Martha Stewart’s Chicken Slab Pies (frozen).

  9. I hope the regular cans of Kirkland brand Albacore tuna is not being permanently discontinued!! Because of my arthritic hands I had to use pliers to pull the ring to open the can and once opened found mostly mushy tuna.
I agree with Sahra Hup about the 4 bean salad.

Why don’t you carry carrot cake cupcakes anymore They were the best.
Stop all the big changes to this wonderful shopping place.

  11. 2 things I miss are the Bran Muffins and the Tyson’s sausage patties, we would buy the patties about every 3months and the muffins about once a month.

  12. Really miss the 3-pack of loaf cakes sold at the holidays. They were the best and I always bought SEVERAL to keep in the freezer. PLEASE?

  13. WhAt happened to the gallon of MILO’S diet iced tea? Costco had the best buy on this & I am very thursty! Please bring it back!!!

  14. The sheet cakes were the best for decorating with a picture. One of the main reasons for having a membership since I purchased so many of them.

  15. Really miss the breakfast sausages that came in double packages also more choices of muffins and containers of large green grapes.

  16. Please bring back the albacore tuna it was so good and affordable that it makes me sad if it’s gone.

  17. From the bakery, the rosemary/Parmesan bread!!! I still dream about it. What is the rationale behind discontinuing outstanding products? And with so much consumer feedback about g egg tying them back?

I will not buy any meat that is not guaranteed to be raised humanely! Any meat! And the seafood that is caught should be line-caught and dolphin safe.

  19. I used to be a member but can no longer purchase the 1/2 sheet cakes, Michigan tart cherry jelly, or coffee maker filters, etc.

  20. JoAnn DAntonio

Locatelli brand Pecorino Romano cheese…have to go to BJs for it now….it is the BEST cheese.

  21. Glad that Costco can be manipulated by the large the wealthy and “activitists”. seems like the prices and good choices are disappearing. That’s OK, Walmart , Sams ,BJ’s will gladly take care of us. Thanks also to Warren Buffet,he helped do away with Kirkland Batteries, or was this just a good business decision., for the owner’s.
