This family-owned regional favorite has been loved by loyal shoppers long before the pandemic hit. But when the nation was struggling the most and other companies struggle to make important, life-saving decisions, Market Basket rose up to the occasion and showed us all how it’s done.

Their associates had always been able to wear masks. As soon as it became apparent that more measures needed to be put into place, they immediately started installing Plexiglas around cash registers. Shoppers in New England, Massachusetts, and Maine should have been able to immediately tell that Market Basket truly considered their employees to be essential. After all, they’ve proven this with more than just words but actions.

Many customers oftentimes wonder if perhaps the prices listed on various items aren’t mistakes or typos. Those low digits, though? Turns out, shockingly (can you taste our sarcasm on the other side of the screen?), that the combination of these low digits and the seriousness with which the chain has approached the pandemic have turned a lot of people into instant fans.
