December 18, 2020 · Home Ideas, Tips & Tricks

Do a curb appeal project

Curb appeal refers to how attractive your house is from street level. Boosting its curb appeal may totally be worth it, especially if you want to sell your house sometime in the future. Apart from becoming your neighborhood’s jewelry, adding some oomph to your home’s outward appearance will also up its value.

You don’t even have to break the bank to do certain small-scale curb appeal projects such as painting the front door, making some landscaping improvements, installing smart lighting etc. For more information, check out these 14 Expert-Approved Tips to Get the Best Price for Your Property.

Improve fire safety

According to 2019 statistics, a home structure fire occurred every 93 seconds in the U.S. Residential fires can be caused by defective electrical appliances, open fires and heaters, or unsupervised cooking. While the numbers are scary, house fires can be avoided if a proper fire safety system is implemented.

First thing’s first: check your smoke alarms. Perform regular tests and maintenance works to make sure they function properly and can detect and warn you in case of a fire. Secondly, buy fire extinguishers and keep them somewhere handy. Thirdly, check your electronics, cable and wires for any signs of wear and tear and replace them if necessary. Finally, cook with care!
