While we all hope (therefore try) to win the lottery someday, you have more chances of being struck by lightning or becoming the next U.S. president. That’s literally the truth. Now, if you’re a regular lottery player, think about how many dollars you spend on lottery tickets in a year.

GPS

If you’re a wilderness buff, maybe purchasing a stand-alone GPS is a good idea, but otherwise, it’s complete nonsense. Exploring areas that lack cellphone service requires a GPS device, but when your trips are to the grocery store, and back home, a dedicated GPS navigator won’t get much use. Plus, GPS devices are pretty expensive. Use your smartphone in order to get from point A to point B.
