Coffee: $249

Think that Starbucks coffee is expensive? Well… think again and enjoy your Starbucks! The most expensive coffee in the world is actually Kopi luwak, and its price is determined by the unusual method of producing the coffee.

To sum things up, the expensive coffee is actually produced by an Indonesian cat-like animal, namely palm civet or civet cat. The coffee beans are eaten and digested by this animal and then collected from the animal’s droppings. And that’s why a standard-sized bag of Kopi luwak coffee costs $249.

Fair or not, someone has worked really hard to make your coffee…
