Here’s How Amazon Gets You to Spend More Money

Prime Instant Video

If you’re a Prime member, you most likely have access to Prime Video, a streaming service full of popular movies and TV shows. And although it is pretty popular among Prime members, Prime Video is not one of Amazon’s direct sources of money.

Why? Because the giant retailer has discovered that Amazon Prime members who also happen to use this free video streaming service are actually more likely to buy or rent movies as non-Prime members.  Plus, almost 30 percent of movies and TV shows displayed on Prime Video are not free even if you have a membership.

In other words, this streaming service is great as long as you keep watching free movies and shows like “The Forgiven” or “Mozart in the Jungle.”
