Lightning Deals

If you check the Gold Box page on Amazon’s website, you’ll most likely spot the words “Lightning Deals.” This type of deal is actually limited to one discounted product per customer. Apart from that, they have short expiration dates; they are called lightning for a reason…

But how exactly does Amazon get our attention with these deals? Well, the retailer displays a status bar that shows the percentage of the discounted products that are already in Amazon shoppers’ carts, inducing a feeling of urgency in other shoppers.

If you’re tight with money, avoid the Lightning Deals section; you’ll most likely end up purchasing something you don’t need.
