Celebrities nowadays seem to be a constant topic of many social conversations. We seem to have a fascination with what they choose to wear, their travel habits, we even feel the need to know what they had for lunch yesterday.

The one thing some people absolutely need is a lock of their hair. Surprisingly it’s a pretty common practice that has been around since the 1800s. From JFK to Justin Bieber people have forked over anywhere between $500 to $331,233 if they want to own a lock of hair.

While there are collectors all over the world, Americans are the ones who seem to be more enthused to own a piece of their idol’s tresses.
