In 1963, at Pleak Hardware, the GE Reflector Toaster had a price tag of $17.95, which basically means that you could have purchased five of them.

What you would have bought with $100: One portable television

One portable television (a GE Personal Portable TV from Richardson’s) had a price tag of $99.95, according to an ad that appeared in the Kansas City Times.
