BRAZIL: Making the OK sign
You might think you’re making an OK sign to express that everything is alright with you but in Brazil, your gesture might be interpreted as obscene and extremely offensive. Instead of making a circle with your thumb and your index finger, stick to using the “thumbs up” sign.
When he was a vice-president, Richard Nixon made the OK sign when exiting his plane and found out the hard way what it meant for the crowd waiting for him. Let’s just say it wasn’t a pleasant welcoming.
