NEW ZEALAND: Confusing it for Australia
Americans and Canadians are not the only ones with a feud as old as time. If you really want to make a laid-back, relaxed Kiwi (aka a person from New Zealand) upset and offended, all you have to do is mention their larger neighbor, Australia.
Although the two countries have different cultures and geographical features, many people confuse them, especially New Zealand. Although the Kiwi-Aussie rivalry is often described as a “sibling rivalry”, the Kiwis never miss a chance of reminding everyone that they treated native Maoris far better than Australians did with Aboriginals.
