Kim Kardashian West and Kris Humphries: 72 days
A few years before ‘Famous for being famous’ Kim Kardashian West would add the West part to her name, she could easily be called Kim Kardashian Humphries as the reality TV star would wed NBA player Kris Humphries on August 20 in Montecito, California. However, this would be no ordinary wedding but, as The Washington Post called it, a “media blitz” wedding.
Although the marriage would only be brief, with Kardashian citing the deliberately vague ‘irreconcilable differences’ as reason for the split, many people believe that the whole thing was just one (well, 72) big publicity stunt to raise more awareness of the Kardashian family’s brand. The fact that there was a two-part TV special about the wedding preparations and the big day itself aired on E! lends this theory a little more credence.
