“I’m pregnant!”
Pregnancy announcements are amazing… just not over text. We’re so used to sharing a lot of heartwarming news over social media that we sometimes forget it’s much better to do certain things face-to-face.
The same thing goes for pregnancy announcements. You want your family to celebrate with you and, if you absolutely can’t meet up with them, a video call or a heartfelt email should be the last resort.
If you need to tell your manager that you’re pregnant and need to figure out maternity leave then ask them to set up a meeting instead.
Plus, if you do it like this you’ll also be able to gauge their reaction to the news because let’s face it, some people may not be as thrilled about the good news as you are.
“Constructive” criticism
Picture this. You’re at work and you got an email from a coworker regarding a project they’ve been working on for a while. You read through it find several mistakes… some of which you may have pointed out in the past, too. Frustrated, you might write back and give your constructive criticism.
Truth is, this doesn’t go over well in professional settings. Start off by congratulating them on the project. Keep your response up-beat and then find a way to add your constructive criticism. It’s better if you do it in person, but the same things apply. Your coworker might respond negatively if you’re not careful about how you word things, so keep that in mind, even if your intentions are pure!

Most of these our president is guilty of doing. Tell him to read this article and maybe he’ll learn. Or maybe he will convince you that his way is the correct way and that you are wrong. After all, he’s the president and always right.
