Dax Shepard himself brought up how he got ahead of the curve in 2019, during the Television Critics Association press tour. He said that, as a child, his dyslexia was quite severe. So much so that he needed to be taken to a special-ed room every day.
Worried that he would be made fun of, Shepard leaned into his comedic genius in order to “get to the joke before you get to the joke”, staying one step ahead of all the kids that would poke fun at him.
