Crystal Renn is a notable fashion model and author born in Miami on June 18, 1986. She began her career in fashion at the age of 14 after being spotted by a professional scout. Many young girls would have probably loved being in her shoes, but Renn’s life took a turn for the worst when she was told she needed to lose weight in order to fit into industry standards.

After battling anorexia nervosa for years, the model turned her life around and managed to gain some weight, re-inventing herself as a plus-size model. This, in turn, lead her to write Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves, thus becoming an inspiration to other aspiring models who suffer from similar body image issues.

 

11. Summer Phoenix

Born in Winter Park, Summer Phoenix is the youngest sibling of actors/actresses River Phoenix, Rain Phoenix, Joaquin Phoenix, and Liberty Phoenix. Her acting career started when she was only two years old and went on to star in several productions including Murder She Wrote, Growing Pains, Swamp Thing, Airwolf, Kate’s Secret, and Russkies.

She was also the lead actress in Esther Kahn (2000) and Suzie Gold (2004), while in 2002 she started in a three-month run of This is Our Youth at the Garrick Theatre alongside Matt Damon and Casey Affleck.

On December 25, 2003, she got engaged with Casey Affleck, with whom she later had two children. Years later in 2016, the couple publicly announced their separation.

Movie lovers with a keen eye would remember Bailee Madison from her role as May Belle Aarons in the movie Bridge to Terabithia (2007). After her cinema debut at 8, she went on to star in Brothers (2009), Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (2010), Just Go with It (2011), Parental Guidance (2012), Northpole (2014) and the slasher horror film The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018).

Suffice it to say, the now 20-year-old actress has had her fingers in many pies, proving that she can master any role in any genre, from horror to fantasy to war movies.

Born in Jacksonville on April 9, 1980, Yoanna is a television host and fashion model best known for winning Cycle 2 of America’s Next Top Model.

Her career in the fashion industry was undoubtedly propelled by her grandmother, a figure with which she would often go out shopping, read magazines and watch TV. On top of that, she was also the person who taught her about couture, further influencing her fashion choices and appreciation for the industry.

After appearing in a commercial for the Declare Yourself voting campaign, a cover story for Psychology Today magazine, and numerous spreads across various magazines, House hosted The N’s reality series Queen Bees in 2008.

 

8. Sarah Paulson

Sarah Paulson, born December 17, 1974 in Tampa, was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine in 2017.

Her acting career began with New York stage productions, where she was raised following her parents’ divorce, during her high school years. She later went on to star in various movies and TV shows- too many to even list here, but her most notable performances garnered her three Golden Globe Award nominations and seven Primetime Emmy Award nominations.

Her role in The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story in 2016 gained one of each of the previously mentioned nominations, for example. But perhaps she is best known for her roles in American Horror Story, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Game Change.

 

7. Bella Thorne

Annabella Avery Thorne, born October 8, 1997 in Pembroke Pines, gained prominence for her role as CeCe Jones on the Disney Channel series Shake It Up (2010–2013). And nothing has been stoping her since then!

But Thorne’s career started earlier than that. In fact, she began modeling at only 6 months old. So far, she has appeared in over 30 commercials, several magazine covers (including  Shape, Seventeen, Teen Vogue, Latina and Gay Times) and has starred in two music videos,  Logan Paul’s “Outta My Head” and Liam Payne’s “Bedroom Floor“.

Alexa PenaVega, born in Miami on the 27th of August 1988 is probably best known for her role as Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids film series and Shilo Wallace in the film Repo! The Genetic Opera.

While playing Carmen Cortez she also recorded three songs for the movie’s soundtrack, which later lead her to release her first debut single “Isle of Dreams”, followed by “Game Over”, and “Heart Drive”.

Furthermore, she starred as the title character Ruby Gallagher in Ruby & Rockits, an ABC family series from 2009.  Vanity Fair also named her one of the hottest teen celebrities in 2003.

 

5. Faye Dunaway

Dorothy Faye Dunaway was born in Bascom on January 14, 1941. During her career, she received an Academy Award, three Golden Globes, and a British Academy Film Award, but that’s not all! She was also made an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters by the government of France in 2011. Talk about an accomplished woman!

Dunaway began her career on Broadway in the 60s but made her screen debut in the 1967 film The Happening. Later that same year, she reached true stardom with her portrayal of outlaw Bonnie Parker in Arthur Penn’s Bonnie and Clyde. That same performance earned her an Academy Award nomination.

She is also regarded as one of the greatest and most beautiful actresses of her generation. Don’t believe us? Baird appeared in the Drew Carey Show and Brain Blockers, but her breakthrough came when she joined the cast of Wedding Crashers (2005). After that, Baird became even more successful thanks to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, in which she starred in 2006.

Though she appeared in many movies since her most known roles were for 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) and Hitch (2005). In addition, she also appeared in a number of music videos and was known as a brand ambassador for Calvin Klein, Cartier, Reebok, Pantene shampoo, Morgan, and Peek & Cloppenburg.

Mendes won two awards during her career, a Capri Global Award in 2005, and a Giffoni Award in 2009, in addition to 13 other nominations.
