You can contest a medical decision
If you don’t agree with a decision made by Medicare or a Medicare health plan, you have the right to an appeal. The procedure consists of five levels, and if your claim is rejected at one level, you are allowed to move up to a higher level and ask for a reconsideration.
To make sure you have a solid case, you have to collect all the relevant information from your doctor, health care provider, or supplier. If you have reasons to believe your health can be adversely affected while waiting for a decision, you have the right to a fast appeal. If your health care provider or Medicare plan agrees, you should receive notice of the decision within 2 days of your expedited appeal.
