Medicare provides more telehealth services
Telehealth services have been covered by Medicare plans for a long time but now, in the context of the pandemic, traditional Medicare has expanded the services so that patients no longer have to be at a Medicare facility.
Medicare beneficiaries can now have access to telehealth services and a wider variety of medical professionals from the safety of their own homes, directly from their smartphones. The only downside, if we can consider it that way, is that virtual services cost the same as in-person visits to the doctor’s office – 20% of the costs covered by the Medicare Part B deductible.
