7. Curb or Quit Those Bad Habits
We all know that smoking and excessive drinking is bad for you. Smoking cigarettes, chewing tobacco, and other products with nicotine can lead to a whole laundry list of health problems like heart disease, lung and gum disease. And although everyone knows that it can cause cancer, what most people don’t know is that it can cause at least 15 different types of cancer. It’s never too late to give up, and studies have shown that 20 minutes after the last puff of a cigarette, your body actually starts to heal.
Studies have also shown that statistically, if you quit, in just one year your odds of developing heart disease drop by half. The same goes for drinking excessive amounts of alcohol. Yes, we know it can cause liver cancer, but like with smoking, people don’t realize it can leave you susceptible to developing 7 different types of cancer.
So, if you still fancy a tipple, women should have no more than one drink a day, and men should only have two.
