Your child will be happy for a new ‘partner in crime’ in the shape of that knock-off Barbie or action figure, but their joy will soon turn to sorrow if, 10 minutes in their playtime, their toy falls apart.
Do you think that’ll be the end of your problems? Far from it. You’d be surprised to find out that toys from the dollar store are also considered dangerous. When they break they become choking hazards, for one. Some battery-operated gadgets have been reported to have overheating issues, and even back in 2016 Dollar General was forced to recall a toy truck when it became clear it was a fire hazard.
And let’s not forget how a dollar store dart gun caused the deaths of two children, which later lead to the recall of over 1.8 million such toys. So, are you sure you still want to buy that cheap toy?
