Online merchants don’t need much of your information to finalize an order- but scammers do. If an online merchant is asking for your bank account information and Social Security number, run!

There’s absolutely no reason for them to be asking for these things, even if they may come up with outlandish reasons behind these requests. Ignore them and look for those items elsewhere.

As always, practice safety by not giving away information that you know could fall into the wrong hands.

Remember That If It Looks Too Good To Be True, It Probably Is

Finally, this one goes out to all the people who are constantly looking for the best deals. You may fall into the “too good to be true” trap, as many people have in the past.

If you find heavily discounted items, ask yourself why they’re so discounted first and always double check online for real prices. In a lot of cases you’ll notice online retailers advertising a 90% discount, but if you look for the same thing someplace else you’ll notice the same price with no discount!

If your instincts are telling you that something ain’t right, trust yourself and walk away before you do something you’ll later regret!
