Links Sent via Text Messages

With so many businesses trying to get the word out there, using more and more outlandish advertising methods, you may not be too surprised to find random text messages in your messaging app. These will often redirect you towards a link in order to get an amazing deal. Others will tell you to visit the link in order to cancel a service.

These are known as smishing scams, used by criminals to gather your information by luring you in with these links. By taking action, you’ll fall right into their traps, even if the link you visit looks like a trusted source. If it does, close that link and instead visit the real website, then take action from there if the link is not fake.
