6. Hawaiian Food

During the 70s, people were putting pineapple on everything. Back in the day, families started traveling more often to Hawaii, borrowing all kinds of exotic recipes from there, and that’s how this trend started.

People got used to eating Hawaiian meatballs and Hawaiian chicken, which was basically pineapple with meat. Grilled pineapple and pineapple cake were also really popular and became some delicious ideas for desserts, especially if they were served with a tablespoon of ice cream.

And that’s not all. You definitely know that pineapple on pizza is a real trend right now, with many supporters and many people that can’t stand it because they call it overrated. Well, Hawaiian Pizza is another dish that became a thing in the 70s.
