Radio Shack
If you had a techie in your family or friend group you wanted to shop around for, chances were you were going to stop by Radio Shack. But when most company-owned stores shut down in 2017, they took away the joy of in-person shopping.
It’s not a huge surprise that they had to close down, especially with the rise of e-commerce, but we still wish we would have one more chance to shop around in one of their iconic stores this December.
Kmart
Kmart is not what it used to be, though there are still some physical locations sprinkled around the country. Chances are, though, that you won’t be perusing their stores any time soon.
Who could forget the famed “Attention, Kmart shoppers …” announcement or the blue-light specials? And, best of all, who could forget the layaway?
There are many things we miss about the discounter, but it doesn’t look like they’ll ever recover and return to their former glory.
