Ahh, and don’t forget about those $450 you’ll have to pay each season for closing and opening costs. Who wants a pool now?

15. Hot Tubs

Although hot tubs have lower initial costs than installing a pool, it doesn’t mean that they aren’t expensive. A Houzz subscriber said once that he sold his hot tub after a couple of years, adding that even though it was actually energy-efficient, the water bill disagreed.

Just like pools, hot tubs are also a financial disaster.
