3. Brushing teeth right after eating
No one enjoys eating their cereal with toothpaste aftertaste, but washing your teeth before breakfast is actually a better idea. When we are sleeping, bacteria multiplies so washing your teeth in the morning actually helps you get rid of that.
At breakfast we usually consume acidic food, like orange juice and fruit, and food that might irritate the gums, like pastries. Brushing teeth right after eating may actually do more damage than good, as little scraps of food can still be present in the mouth.
According to the American Dental Association, if you want to brush your teeth after eating, you should wait at least an hour after your last meal.
