We’re pretty sure that washing our hands for several 20-second rounds is now forever engrained in our DNA. While safe for our wellbeing, this new daily routine proved disastrous for soap manufacturers.

But it wasn’t the actual soap that was the issue. In fact, manufacturers had an incredibly hard time keeping up with the demand for pumps.

Luckily, alternatives hit the shelves pretty quickly, such as soap swatches and soap refills. This has also made plenty of consumers think twice about the environment and just how many pumps of liquid hand soap make it to landfills. Perhaps we will continue the trend on relying on refills rather than brand new bottles going forward.
