If you’re living in the Baked Bean State, you already know how big the median household income is. In fact, the state’s residents benefit from the 6th- highest median household income in the U.S. However, when we turn to Massachusetts’ high cost of living, all of the above transforms into a nightmare. Residents here have less than 22 percent of their paychecks after monthly expenses.
43. Connecticut
- Median household income/paycheck: $2,759.81
- The leftover income after covering monthly expenses: $678.38
