Fake Coupon Sites
A scammer will use any trick in the book, including making face coupon sites. These are usually advertised heavily on social media, but before clicking on any links, make sure they’re actually sending you to the retailer’s official website and not some dodgy website you’ve never even heard of before. Also, remember that some pages that advertise these coupons may claim to be affiliated with legitimate retailers.
Say you just saw a coupon on Facebook. Before you click on it, go to that retailer’s official website and look for any legitimate deals. If you can’t find it, don’t just assume it’s an inside scoop. Contact that retailer personally and ask about it and they’ll be able to clear the air for you immediately.
