British model Beverley Pilkington was known for many sexy ad campaigns, including the ones for Big D nuts, commonly sold in various pubs across the UK and Ireland. The campaign included packages, calendars and T-shirts and is widely believed to have skyrocketed sales.
And despite the fact that she could have gone a long time working on other similar campaigns, in 1975, Pilkington decided to try on… something different. She took part in a photoshoot that supported Europe’s continued membership in the EEC, despite the fact that many cabinet members at that time were asking for its withdrawal.
However, voter support was outstanding. We think it had something to do with Pilkington’s ‘Europe or bust!’ T-shirt.
