Nowadays, Brigitte Bardot is known as a major popular cultural icon thanks to starring in more than 40 movies. But back in the ‘50 and ‘60 she was known as a sex symbol and was famed for her portrayal of sexually emancipated personae with hedonistic lifestyles.

Many people can’t help but picture her as a fierce blonde. That’s because very few people know she was actually born a brunette. We just had to show off this rare look of hers.

Bardot gained international recognition after starring in And God Created Woman (1956) and later on in life received the Legion of Honour (the highest French order of merit), though she refused to accept it. After retiring from the entertainment industry, she became an animal rights activist.
